Pierre is from France and has roots in Russia and is notable for his participation in several of “The Voice” television franchises including France, Russia and most recently Ukraine. Here he performs Stairway with a band (The Toy?) and it’s a fantastic almost coffee house style performance. With a relatively stripped down arrangement Pierre and the band manage to perform a mostly acoustic version of Stairway to Heaven that that has all the dynamics you’d expect from a fully equipped rock band. They play tight and in time, locking in on each other for their cues and finesse the hell out of their performance in a very intimate setting in from of an appreciative crowd. Pierre’s vocals are really good here; also displaying dynamics and sensitivity for the lyrics, and his voice has a bit of a break in it that channel’s Robert Plant without mimicking it.

One of the neat things about Pierre’s vocal is his European pedigree. If you listen you can hear some of those unmistakable vocal flavours in his performance here and it’s suggestive of perhaps big things to come from him. A quick visit to his facebook page show’s that he’s really working it.
EDIT TO ADD (Jan 23, 2018): The original Youtube link of Pierre’s Stairway performance has been blocked/deleted for copyright reasons (my guess). I’ve left the original link in case it returns, but have also added below a newer electric performance of Pierre doing Stairway with his band. It’s a good and solid performance that shows his skill with an audience but it’s not quite as magical as the original acoustic performance I posted so I hope that one reappears on YouTube again at some point.
