Because it has to been seen in its majesty! The Smashing Pumpkins are back folks and this is awesome. Billy Corgan, James Iha, & Jimmy Chaimberlain and Co. perform Stairway to Heaven on the first show of their “Oh So Bright” reunion tour. Watch this before it disappears from YouTube.
Watch the whole thing and catch the “procession” in the arena. No idea how long this will remain in the set, or how long it will remain on YouTube before the inevitable copyright claim by the music publishers, so make sure you watch it (and snag a copy using a YouTube download extension on your browser). By every account this first show was simply awesome and I can imagine they will only get better and more vital as they relax into their performances as the tour progresses. I’m being told it’s not to be missed.
Looking forward to seeing more versions of this performance posted from subsequent shows. I think Billy needs to be playing guitar on this though after he finishes the piano part (or stay at the piano). I’d love to see him strapped while singing this at a mic.
